DIRECTOR OF STUDIES
Garth Armitage has worked in the fashion industry for more than 30 years with extensive industrial experience as Design Manager, Technical Manager, Senior Pattern Cutter and Product Manager with many prestigious companies in the UK and Thailand. As a graduate of the University of Belfast, Garth has had 12 years teaching experience in pattern cutting, manufacturing techniques and production management in both a class lecturing situation and in extensive workshop practice. He is also experienced in clothing course development and in freelance managerial and technical consultancy within the clothing industry.
DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
Viviane is a specialist in fashion design and product development. She has over 20 years educational experience in UK Universities, as Senior lecturer, Course leader and as Head of Fashion for BA degree courses. In addition to lecturing and directing, she has been involved in the writing and development of Design Degree courses.
She has worked as a designer and design consultant in the International Fashion Industry, designing women’s wear ranges for various UK and European Fashion companies.
She graduated from Central St Martins College of Art and Design London, with a Masters Degree in Design Studies. Her areas of expertise are in Fashion Design, Research and Development, Modelling and Draping, Pattern Technology, Fabric Study and Fashion Promotion and Communication.
PROGRAM LEADER – GRAPHIC DESIGN
Steve Burdett has been a teacher in the field of graphic design for over forty years, before which he spent ten years in the printing industry, including a five year apprenticeship. As a graduate of Northumbria University, gaining a degree in the History of Modern Art, followed by a masters degree in Photographic Illustration, he spent most of his career at Northumbria University as a senior lecturer where he latterly became the course leader of the BA (Hons) Graphic Design course. He has also worked at Teesside University on a part-time basis and has been external examiner at Edinburgh College of Art and the University of Hertfordshire. He has had experience abroad in working with franchised courses and as advisor in India, Singapore and Greece
ANDREW MARK LAWRENCE
PROGRAMME LEADER - GRAPHIC DESIGN
Andrew Lawrence graduated with an MA in Graphic Design from the Royal College of Art in the UK. He obtained his BA (Hons) degree in Visual Communication at Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication in 1989.
Andrew has more than 20 years working experience in the industry as a Graphic Design Consultant in Berlin and London for clients, including British Telecom, Nokia (London), Ford Europe, Bank for International Settlements in Switzerland, British Embassy Berlin, Royal Institute of British Architects and Berlin Schoenefeld Airport.
In 2002, he and his colleagues at SV Berlin won the Best Design Award in Brno Bienale, one of the oldest and most important events in the field of visual communication worldwide. He has been teaching Graphic Design since his graduation in different universities and colleges such as Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication, Plymouth University and Raffles Design Institute Shanghai.
He has also held the position of Programme Director for Visual Communication (Graphic Design and Multimedia), Programme Leader for Graphic Communication with Typography and Associate Professor.
PROGRAMME LEADER – INTERIOR (3D) DESIGN
Huren has over twenty years of professional experience across a wide range of design and architectural practices including architecture and planning, interior design, exhibition and museum design and product design. The majority of his work experience has been that of a ‘specialist’ designer working across the disciplines of architecture, interior and furniture design on the ‘front-of-house’ or showcase areas of projects that require innovative and original concepts outside the standard design elements of the project. His works includes the design of reception areas (a total of 11), conference rooms, library, art gallery, executive dining rooms, museum galleries and exhibitions, boardrooms and in-house catering facilities, various bespoke furniture, specialist lighting and co-ordinating artwork into schemes.
Huren has been working in many universities as lecturers in interior design and external examiner in the UK, including Leeds Beckett Univeristy, Leeds Metropolitan University, University of Hertfordshire, Kingston University, to name a few.

PROGRAMME LEADER - FASHION DESIGN
Ms. Uyen obtained a Master degree in Textile and Garment Technology from the Hanoi University of Technology. She also has extensive experience of working in fashion industry as a product developer/merchandiser for European and USA companies. She is fluent in English and speaks Chinese. She has been a lecturer at LCFS since 2004, and teaches Pattern Cutting, Fabric Study, Garment Construction.
Donna Bramhall is the founder of vintage textiles business Spinsters Emporium and currently works as a freelance fashion textile designer HaberdasherMe. Donna has studied all aspects of fashion design for over 10 years and has worked as a fashion designer in New York, Shanghai, Hong Kong and London. Donna now specialises on lecturing in research and development, portfolio presentation, fashion marketing and cultural studies. Donna’s other areas of interest include ethical and sustainable practice in fashion education, and textile designs from around the world.
FASHION DESIGN LECTURER
May has graduated from the University of Northumbria and obtained a Master degree in Fashion Design from the Nottingham Trent University. She’s been working in fashion industry since the year 2000 both for high-end labels as well as develop her own label in all areas including design, sales and marketing and production. She has achieved many awards from fashion industry such as Green Business Award by Derbyshire Chamber of Commerce, Nottingham Creative Business Award by Nottingham City Council and shortlisted for UK Fashion Entrepreneur Award organized by the British Council. May has taught students on fashion programs since 2004 in the UK and Indonesia and Thailand. She’s also been experience in International exhibition and international catwalk shows.
SENIOR DESIGN LECTURER
Vivienne Austin graduated from Central St. Martins and recently obtained a Masters of Arts degree in Fashion & the Environment at the London College of Fashion. She has taught fashion courses in various colleges and universities in the UK, including the Royal College of Art, Winchester School of Art (BA Course) where she mentored students developing their final collections for graduate fashion week (GFW).
Vivienne has been head designer at several ready-to-wear and sportswear companies in the UK and in the USA. Creating swimwear/active wear collections for an array of established companies ranging from large distribution groups, such as Sara Lee and Liz Claiborne in the USA, to exclusive high-end labels including the British heritage brand Liberty. She’s also worked as a design consultant for Courtaulds, a major supplier to Marks and Spencer and developed the first swimwear collection for the iconic brand ‘Biba’ for House Of Fraser.
Julie Vola graduated from the Marseille Fine Art School and obtained a Master degree in Photography from the National School of Photography in France in 2008. Julie exhibited her personal work on several occasions in France before moving to Vietnam.
She has been working in various areas of photography such as state commissioned art work for local government in France, architecture, editorial, portraits, lifestyle, food, fashion. Julie has several years of experience teaching photography to a wide range of students to improve their technical skills as well as develop their own photography language.
Tamara obtained a Masters Degree in Fashion Design, Textiles and Glass at The University of Wolverhampton (2011). She also obtainedher Degree at Bretton Hall - University of Leeds, (1999).
She has over 20 years experience in the fashion industry, including10 years teaching experience at both colleges and universities in fashion design, textiles, print and contextual studies.
Tamara also has her own printed clothing label for men and women. She has been showcasing her collections at New York, Maryland,USA, Africa and London Fashion Week since 2009. She has won several awards for her creativity, including Midlands Independent Fashion Designer of the year, Nottingham Post Creative Business Awards and Student Entrepreneur of the year.
FASHION BUSINESS LECTURER
Mr. Roberto Ercole has gained a Masters Degree in Marketing and Business Communication in Italy with studentships in the United States and Ireland. He also has worked for 10 years in marketing department within Fashion Industry in Italian multinational companies. He has also taught many Fashion Marketing subjects in colleges in Italy and Thailand.
FASHION ILLUSTRATION LECTURER
Loreto Binvignat Streeter is an illustrator and designer whose works has mainly centered in fashion. Having worked in many different areas of fashion as design, illustration, styling, and events organisation for very important companies she has been able to acquire great knowledge in the field.
Loreto graduated from Istituto Europeo di Design Barcelona, Spain in Fashion & Textile. She also hold postgraduate degree in Creative Illustration and Graphic Design. She is currently teaching drawing and fashion illustration at IED Barcelona, Spain. She is also developing her illustrations and working on the development of her personal line of 100% silk digitally printed scarves, Binvignat Streeter silk scarves.
DRAWING & ILLUSTRATION LECTURER
Sam Murdorch graduated from London University of the Arts in Illustration. He is freelance illust director from Brighton, UK. Through his experience collaborating with UK agencies over the past had the pleasure of working with some well known brands and organisations. Sam started teaching at the London College for Design & Fashion (Hanoi) as Drawing and Illustra Sam has particular experience and interest in; Creative direction, commercial illustration, animat traditional), storyboarding, book cover design, logo design, graffiti, character design, mural painting, watching cartoons, drinking dark beer & napping in the sun.
