Programme Leader - Fashion Design
Laura has over 8 years teaching experience in the Higher Education sector working Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen. Her specialist areas are fashion design, design process, primary and secondary research, idea generation, design development methods, garment realization, visualization and presentation. She has research interests in pedagogical approaches in creative pattern cutting and has had her research paper “How can a box become a garment” internationally published in this field.
She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and obtained PG Cert in . (Academic Practice) in 2016.
Laura previously worked in industry as a designer with over 9 years experience. She is familiar with Lectra’s apparel solutions for CAD pattern construction, grading and lay planning.
